— About Us

A Nigerian cocoa house, built on trust and terroir.

SHC Allied Agro is a vertically integrated cocoa producer headquartered in Ondo State, Nigeria. From our nurseries and family-owned estates to our fermentation yards and export warehouse in Lagos, every step is handled by people who have given their lives to cocoa.

We supply chocolate makers, traders and confectioners across Europe, North America and Asia — backed by traceable lots, organic-friendly farming practices, and a fair-pay commitment to over 600 partner smallholders.

  • Traceable — every bag tracked to its cooperative
  • Sustainable — shade-grown beneath native canopy
  • Certified — FCC Superior & ISO 22000 compliant
  • Trusted — exporting since 2004

— What Sets Us Apart

Built on craft, trust and traceability.

Four principles guide every sack that leaves our warehouse — and every relationship we build.

01

Single-origin traceability

Every lot is traceable to the cooperative, the village and the harvest week.

02

Slow fermentation

Six full days in cedar boxes — no shortcuts, no compromises on flavour depth.

03

Fair farmer partnerships

Premium prices paid directly to smallholders, with year-round agronomy support.

04

Export-ready quality

FCC Superior graded, 7% moisture, fumigated and certified for global shipping.

— Our Story

Three generations rooted in cocoa country.

Born in the cocoa belt of southwestern Nigeria, SHC Allied Agro grew from a single family farm into one of the region's most trusted cocoa producers — without ever losing the patient, hands-on craft that defines great beans.

We work directly with smallholder farmers across Ondo, Osun and Cross River, sharing know-how, paying fairly, and protecting the canopy that protects our trees.

— The Craft

From pod to port, with care at every step.

Every batch passes through four meticulous stages. We don't rush — flavour takes time.

  1. 01

    Cultivation

Heirloom Amelonado and Forastero varietals grown beneath shade trees, nourished by Nigeria's volcanic-rich loam.

  2. 02

    Harvest

Pods are hand-picked at perfect maturity — only the deep ochre, sun-blushed ones make the cut.

  3. 03

    Fermentation

Six days in cedar boxes, turned by hand. This is where chocolate begins to whisper its flavour.

  4. 04

    Sun-drying & sorting

Slow-dried on raised bamboo beds, then graded bean-by-bean for size, colour and aroma.
